The Wimberley Lady Texans lost to Lovejoy on Friday, November 20 in a sem-final match
in Strahan Coliseum on Texas State University campus in San Marcos. The Lady Texans
gave the defending state champion Lovejoy Lady Leopards all they wanted by extending
the match to a 5th and deciding game. The scores of games were as follows 25-23, 21-25,
15-25, 25-22, and 5-15.
Lovejoy went on to defeat Monahans for their 2nd consecutive State Championship.
Congratulations to the players and coaches for a very successful season. The Lady
Texans were a perfect 10-0 in District and won 4 playoff matches to get to the State
Tournament in San Marcos.
Wimberley played Needville Friday 11/13/09 in San Antonio for the Region 4 Semi-finals
match. Wimberley defeated Needville (25-21) (25-11) (25-15).
The Lady Texans then faced their district rival Fredericksburg Lady Billies in the Regional
Finals match on Saturday, November 14. The Lady Texans prevailed in the exciting match
by winning 3 of 5 games by scores of 20-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-19, and 15-11 and will
advance to the State Tournament this weekend.
The Wimberley Lady Texans will be play a State Semi-Final match against Lovejoy on
Friday, November 20 at 3:00 p.m. at Strahan Coliseum on Texas State University campus in
San Marcos. Go Big Blue!

scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-11.

La Grange or Needville on Friday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Blossom Athletic Complex.
